Job Description

Your new roleHere at Highways England, we are looking to recruit a Business Services Co-ordinator to join our team in the North West. Preferably based in our Manchester office (though other North-West locations, including Penrith, Preston or Birchwood could be considered),the role is for a 12-month fixed term contract. Within this role, you will be preparing and promoting Statutory Orders, Notices and Agreements, in accordance with the appropriate legislative framework. You will also undertake research to resolve complex, legalenquiries and translate technical information as well as supporting the senior leadership team with administrative duties and liaising with both internal and external stakeholders to help safely maintain and improve traffic flow on the Strategic Road Network.What youll be leading on

  • Support operational delivery through the preparation of Third Party Agreements, Orders and Notices, in line with relevant legislation and the enablement of regulatory and legal processes including Traffic Orders, Planning Applications and Information Requests.
  • Ensure that customer contacts and correspondence are drafted and completed to the required performance standards for quality and timeliness. This includes customer enquiries, complaints, and Ministerial correspondence as well as coordinating and attendingPublic Inquiries, where relevant.
  • Enable and support processing of payments in accordance with Highways England Policies and Procedures.
  • Enable and support effective information management including the maintenance of documents and records in accordance with Highways England Policies and Procedures and legal requirements.
  • Provision of effective administrative support to the business. A broad ranging accountability which may include executive and project support, support to meetings and conferences, and management of supplies and consumables.
  • Ensure the timely and effective dissemination of notices, memoranda and information.
  • Enable and support resource management and workforce planning processes.
  • Ensure compliance with the Highways England Quality Management System and processes. Support and enable audit and assurance activities.
  • Develop and maintain performance management information and reports to ensure that all operational support and business services activities are delivered to the required standards and timelines.
To be successful
  • Demonstrable high level of literacy with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in the use of business information and document management systems (Microsoft Office preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Ability to work to demanding deadlines whilst organising and prioritising work effectively
  • Experience in conducting research on a range of complex legal issues and providing relevant reports to inform resolutions
  • Experience of working in the infrastructure or construction sector and/or customer facing operations to deliver outstanding levels of customer service
