Job Description

  • Job Title: Head of BI (Hands role)
  • Role: Hands on devlopment, architecture and building a BI function from stratch
  • Techologly: No decisions have been made - Greenfield
  • Sector: E-commerce - Technology First Approach
  • Location: Central Manchetser (Picadilly)
  • Salary: Up to £100k
    • This role would report in to the new CTO as a hands on, Head of BI. Currently, the BI function is purely reporting and is very static. Their focus will be moving to real time data, predictive analytics and a multidimensional, wholistic view of their customer base.The organisation itself has gone from start up to £40million in turnover in a very short space of time. They have now received investment and plan to break £200million over the next few years. This will involve chasing their approach from experience based and "gut feel" decision making to a true data driven approach.The role will be very hands on. There is no existing BI team - over the coming year there will be a mandate to grow the team by 2-3 people, however you will still need to be hands on, owning all architectural decisions and building out the systems. Your peers will be the Head of Product, Head of Engineering and Head of Infrastructure & Cloud - each of which is hands on with either a small, or no team at present.No decisions have been made about the specific technology so my client are agnostic to previous experience. They are however taking a cloud first approach so knowledge of cloud technology is preferred.
