Job Description

My client is looking for Regional Business Development Managers within Air Freight. They are a Global Freight Forwarding Company with exciting opportunities available. This position is to develop and create a robust sales pipeline with a regular focus across key vertical markets such as Aerospace, Electronics, and Healthcare.Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Develop prospects into new business and close contracts with a minimum value of 100,000 kgs per annum per customer
  • Hunt for new business opportunities with newprospects through market research and cold calling.
  • Handle enquiries, RFIs, RFQs, and tenders from receipt to presentation and subsequent closing of these game-changing opportunities
  • Collaborate with Air Product team to ensure appropriate value propositions are developed and executed to customers
  • Support the strategic development of the air business unit in the UK
  • Confidently present solutions to prospective and existing customers which are class-leading which create value and lead to new business wins
  • Ensure new business quoted is consistent with internal financial guidelines
  • Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the companys unique selling propositions and competitive differentiators.
  • Identify and target potential major clients, namely the decision makers within the client organization
  • Develop an understanding of Customer Needs and Challenges - what is driving the customer decisions.
Administration
    • Maintain library of proposals and supporting materials (e.g. case studies)
    • Work with the company tender management department as required
    • Document accounts, activities and opportunities on CRM tool
Financial Management
    • Appreciation of costs of operations to allow winning proposals to be created.
    • Liaise with head of solution design to support the effective use of company standard cost models
    • Work with the divisional Financial Controller to support Investment Applications where necessary.
Experience & Knowledge
  • Proven sales track record of gaining new major business and successfully working to and exceeding Sales Targets
  • Solid background in Air or multimodal freight forwarding; previous experience in operations would be advantageous.
  • Identifying new major business opportunities and the ability to close successfully
  • Knowledge of working with large and complex tenders which lead to sizeable customer opportunities.
  • Experience in our key vertical markets is desirable such as Aerospace, Automotive, Electronics, Consumer & Retail, Healthcare, and Industrial.
  • Aptitude for building trust and high-quality relationships with customers
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and manage time efficiently is essential
  • Proven excellence in presentation skills - bring gravitas and credibility to varying audiences
  • Ability to close business and sustain long-term business relationships
  • Commercial awareness aptitude/skills
  • Able to negotiate at a high level
