The Role: Business Development Manager - MPSLocation: Home based, travel requiredThis role requires you to be permanently based in the South West/Midlands region (Bristol, Birmingham, Northampton, Cardiff) Following its launch in 2022, the M&G Wealth MPS has gone from strength-to-strength, with adviser demand for the attractive proposition growing and several industry awards received for our service. Accelerating the MPS business is a key strategic priority forWealth division and the sales team sits at the heart of the heart of this exiting phase following a successful year. The MPS Sales team is a small focused team focused on building meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships with the adviser community and is responsible for establishing, growing and retaining asset flows across the UK intermediary channel. As Business Development Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Executing the sales strategy by conducting targeted IFA activity to sign up Financial Adviser firms and create a pipeline of business.
  • Working alongside other M&G Wealth sales teams to identify opportunities and establish relationships with their existing accounts as well as sourcing and securing new firms independently
  • Segmenting existing panel and focus activity accordingly. Thereafter to work closely with targeted firms to increase share of wallet, where appropriate.
  • Capturing targeted assets under management (AUM) into the M&G Wealth MPS proposition
Key Responsibilities:
  • To identify and sign-up firms to the M&G Wealth MPS Proposition. Establish and agree an account plan with the firm which details new business flows and any existing assets to be moved into the M&G Wealth MPS and timescales / requirements to achieve this.
  • Build and maintain relationships with business owners, advisers and key investments staff and panelled firms
  • Communicate on an agreed regular basis, to all relevant stakeholders, progress against the account plan
  • Ensure prospective and existing M&G Wealth MPS users fully understand the proposition including investment and service differentiators and what this can do for their business
  • Proactively work with M&G Wealth sales teams to support their investment conversations with existing and new Financial Adviser firms
  • Deliver any required Due Diligence requests and / or beauty parades to firms who have expressed interest in the M&G Wealth MPS proposition
  • Ensure effective working relationships with all internal departments and key stakeholders within the M&G Wealth division and wider Group
  • Taking an active role in the sales process and proposition to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct lead generation activity to supplement marketing campaigns. To include responses to enquiries within your region, as well as proactive campaigns and networking.
Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • A focused and motivated self starter with a positive outlook and commercial acumen
  • Proven track record for selling outsourced investment propositions in the Financial Adviser market and achieving goals and sales targets
  • A sound understanding of multi-asset investment solutions both from a technical and marketplace perspective
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Articulate and well presented with high quality presentation skills
  • Proven knowledge of the broader financial advice marketplace, the financial advice workplace and an understanding of different adviser propositions, their processes and the key drivers for success
  • IT literate with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively using multiple sources of information to craft effective business solutions
  • Strong customer orientation, with an understanding of and commitment to delivering a customer service experience superior to our main competitors
  • Driving License
