Simpson Judge is currently working with a rapidly growing Legal firm based in Central Manchester. They are now looking to speak to Accounting and Finance or Legal graduates who are looking for their first opportunity in Billing. The Billing Clerk will bepreparing and proceeding legal aid bills arising from judicial cases. This is a permanent position offering a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office. Salary: Between £21,000 - £23,000Roles/ ResponsibilitiesPreparing fixed fee and escape claim Legal Help bills to submit to the Legal Aid Agency Preparing nil bills and claims for costs for certificated cases Preparing complex claims to send to costs draftsmen, including drafting instructions and collating relevant documentsLiaising with counsels clerks and expertsCollating disbursements, invoices and counsels fee notesRequesting and allocating payments on accountGeneral document administration including, filing, scanning, and archivingAssisting with annual audits General liaison with the LAA regarding the processing of bills Tracking the progress of cases in costing and liaising with fee earners to ensure smooth and timely billing of filesSkills/ Experience* Accounting and Finance or Law degree would be an advantage* Background in Legal would be a great advantage* Strong Communication skills* Excel skillsBenefits* 29 days holiday + Bank Holidays* Pension* Medicash* Bupa* Life Assurance* Free hot daily breakfast and lunches* Free parking onsite* Cycle to work and season tickets schemesInterested Apply or get in touch on (E): or Whatsapp on (M): to speak to Sonia Sidje
