Job Description

Garden Court North Chambers invites applications for the role of Billing Assistant / Clerk to join our highly experienced and expanding Practice Management Team.Full-time, part-time and flexible working applications will be considered.Summary of roleThe purpose of the job is to provide billing assistance to support the effective administration of Chambers. The role will involve:

  • Billing private, legal aid and Conditional Fee work in civil, family, immigration and criminal cases
  • Monitor shared billing mailboxes identifying and prioritising urgent bills
  • Review and action unassessed fees reports and chase outstanding billing
  • Assist the fees staff with claim forms for CCMS submission
  • Action emails from professional clients requesting amendments to bills and copy fee notes
Person specificationEssential
  • Previous experience of billing legal work, preference to be given to applicants with knowledge of legal aid billing
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Strong IT skills
  • Ability to manage own workload, work effectively and efficiently
Desirable
  • Previous experience in a barristers chambers or similar office environment
  • Knowledge of CCMS
  • LEX case management system experience or similar professional software
Full-time hours of work are 9am to 6pm Monday to Thursday, 9am to 5.30pm Friday.
