Job Description

My client are a leading eCommerce and technology services company for the worlds major entertainment brands they pride themselves on being forward-looking, dynamic, and innovative. Over the past 15 years they have developed platforms for over 50 clients/agenciesthat have enabled them to deliver marketing and e-commerce websites tailored to their clients needs.What youll be doing-As a Backend Web Developer, you will have the opportunity to work on some high profile projects, brands and properties that are delivered at significant scale. You will need a combination of good technical skills and a keen eye for detail. You will be helpingus to build WordPress themes/plugins and Shopify themes/apps that are used on marketing and commerce sites.You will be responsible for:
  • The delivery of Scrum Items or Support Ticket Solutions assigned to them.
  • Liaising with internal teams to help capture requirements/issues and transition them to scrum items / support tickets.
  • Perform simple analysis and produce accurate effort estimates.
  • Develop Code inline with company processes + secure coding standards.
  • Respond to High Priority incident alerts within SLA.
What experience youll need to apply -
  • Recent 2:1 Minimum Degree in Computer Science/Computing/Software Engineering; OR a highly motivated individual with a keen interest in web technologies and a proven track record of continued learning.
  • A good understanding of the PHP server-side programming language with at least 1 years minimum experience.
  • A good understanding of the Javascript client side programing language with at least 1 years minimum experience.
  • Experience with MySQL database queries and schemas.
  • Experience with WordPress (not just front-end) - for example Plugin and Theme creation,WP-Admin modification, Core loop event model.
  • An understanding of core OOP principles and familiarity with security best practices.
  • A good base of web fundamentals, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
  • Experience adhering to company processes and coding standards.
