Job Description

CPC qualified Assistant Warehouse Manager for a national warehouse & logistics firm based in their Wythenshawe transport division. Working 5am to 2pm Monday to Friday, you will be working in the transport team providing full operational support across the network and various locations to the drivers. The operation is 24/7 so out of hours may be required should a driver or client need to make contact.This is a varied role for a CPC qualified Assistant Warehouse Manager and involves: Vehicle Compliance, Driver Management, Cost Management and Operational Planning. Youll be a people person, able to manage & motivate drivers and deal with any operational issues that arise.Assistant Warehouse Manager - Transport Division : CPC qualified

  • Arranging services / MOTs / tacho calibrations / tail lift weight test, service & LOLERs with the relevant garages for the fleet across the country and follow up work
  • Chase paperwork from garages and upload into vehicle maintenance software
  • Managing & investigate accident, defects etc arranging repairs (defects and damage), dealing with insurance firm.
  • Driver recruitment (selection and hiring process)
  • Carrying out inductions / training to FORS Bronze level of agency staff / new drivers
  • Arranging relevant training for the drivers i.e. DCPC / ADR / D Level (air freight security) / FORS Bronze refreshers
  • Organising driver rotas and staffing levels at each depot including holidays & last minute cover
  • Manage driver hours and infringements through the analysis of their tachos
  • Investigate driving / hour infringements and carry out disciplinary / retraining where necessary
  • Monitor driver person using "Mircolise" and retain / discipline drivers where necessary
  • Manage & analyse costs for the whole of the transport operation including repair costs / agency costs / fuel etc.
  • Authorize invoices from suppliers and raise PO numbers for the transport operation
  • Plan daily work load for the vehicles and driver routes
  • Source additional work (new business)
