Job Description

Role: Graduate / Assistant Transport PlannerLocation: Central ManchesterSalary £20-25kWe are looking for a graduate with a genuine enthusiasm for Transport Planning to join an international consultancy located in the heart of central Manchester.Essential:

  • BSc/ BEng in Civil Engineering or Geography.
  • Assistance in preparation of reports and calculations
  • Undertaking surveys, and research for projects.
  • Knowledge of Traffic Assessments, Travel Plans, Transport Statements.
  • Commercially aware.
  • Desire to be Chartered through relevant Professional Bodies (eg CIHT,CILT, TPP).
  • Desirable:
  • MEng in Civil Engineering, MSc in Transport Planning (or equivalent).
  • Some knowledge of transport planning software TRICS, Junction 8, LINSIG.
  • Availability to work on short missions abroad.
  • The Transport team undertakes development planning work, providing advice to private sector and local authority clients on access and transportation issues and supporting development proposals through the planning process. The team works closely with our Infrastructure Design, Structures and Environmental teams on larger multi-disciplinary development proposals.The ideal candidate will be exposed to:
  • Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Transport Statements;
  • Scheme Appraisal;
  • Parking Studies;
  • Strategic Transport Studies;
  • Transport Surveys;
  • Traffic Engineering.
