Job Description

Area Sales Manager - Plumbing & HeatingJob Title: Area Sales Manager - Plumbing & HeatingIndustry Sector: Gas Burner, Unvented Hot Water Cylinders, House Builders, Property Developers, M&E Contractors, Plumbing Contractors and Plumbing & Heating MerchantsArea to be covered: North WestRemuneration: £35,000-£45,000 + £10,000 Uncapped CommissionBenefits: Fully expensed Car or HMRC Mileage Allowance & Full BenefitsThe role of the Area Sales Manager - Plumbing & Heating will involve:

  • Field sales role selling a mid-premium range of manufactured unvented hot water cylinders
  • Four days a week on the road field sales role, one day time making appointments and doing associated paperwork
  • Domestic focussed with 60% of your time new business orientated with regional plumbing & heating contractors/ one man installers as well as regional house builder
  • 40% of time account managing circa 20-30 plumbing and heating merchants such as Travis Perkins, James Hargreaves, Crossling and independent buying groups PHG & NBG
  • Inheriting the most successful area in the country, currently above budget and with a turnover of circa £1.5m (you will be responsible for approx. £1m of this from day one)
  • Working closely with incumbent on area, who is moving into a national role and retaining some key accounts (worth approx. £500,000)
  • Benefiting from a full order book with contacts and relationships already in place
    • The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager - Plumbing & Heating with:
  • A proven field sales track record within the plumbing & heating market
  • Ideally sold to plumbing & heating contractors and plumbing & heating merchants
  • Would also consider experience of having sold into the new build / housebuilder marketplace
  • Plumbing & heating and/or ventilation industry field sales experience
  • Contacts within plumbing contractors, M&E contractors, property developers and house builders is not required
  • Water heating / cylinders or boiler sales experience not essential
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be well organised
