With products that last longer and make construction - and the manufacturing of its materials - more energy efficient and less wasteful, we make a tangible difference on the carbon footprint of ourplanet.Saint Gobain Construction Chemicals - GCP provides premier Specialty Construction Chemicals (SCC), Specialty Building Materials (SBM) for many of the worlds most renowned structures.GCP Applied Technologies offers a wide range of innovative specialty construction chemicals and materials that includes: concrete admixtures and technologies and fibres, architectural concrete products, liquid pigments for coloured concrete,cement processing additives, concrete masonry products, air barriers, roofing under-layments, residential building materials, structural waterproofing systems, fire protection products, leak sealing and geo-grouting solutions, high strength structural groutsand mortars and resin based highway products.We believe in building the world better.What skills and experience are we looking for First and foremost, attitude and a commitment to your learning and development are most important to us here at Saint-Gobain and GCP.Candidates should be excited by the opportunity of joining an ambitious and expanding company, have the drive to succeed and a professional approach towards sales and it is highly beneficial if you have a background in Highways or Bridges design, constructionor sales.You will be promoting the Stirling Lloyd brand, started in 1970, who are a UK based manufacturer of specialist resin coatings for the construction Industry and are market leader in cold spray-applied Bridge Deck Waterproofing both in the UK and Globally.Over the years, through in-house R & D and Technical support, the range of products has increased to cover Bridge Expansion Joints, Car Park Waterproofing and coatings and a range of products widely used in the Highways Industry such as High Friction Surfacing,Coloured Surfacing and Crack & joint repair systems.For this Area Sales Manager vacancy we do require someone with significant exposure to working in a Technical Sales role and it is highly beneficial if you have a background in highways design, highways construction or highways sales.Key attributes associated with this role include being gregarious with excellent people skills, confident, competitive with excellent presentation skills.Essential Experience:

  • Maximize market potential and develop an expanding client base in line with the companys strategy, resulting in profitable sales of the companys products and services within the territory.
  • Visit prospective clients in order to provide advice with solutions to customers requirements, which correspond to our companys offers.
  • Maintain regular contact with key influencers in order to keep abreast of and where possible influence policy decisions including technical standards and procurement methods.
  • Carry out efficient and well-planned canvassing to maximize sales potential throughout the territory with a particular focus on National Highways, Local Authorities, Network Rail, Engineers and Contractors.
  • Build profitable long-term relationships with the customer base, specifying consultants and end users, successfully managing the accounts.
  • Support and work in parallel with our Authorized Contractors (A/C), follow-up enquiries and support A/Cs in their negotiations to establish effectiveness of offers and communicate responses to same as required to close the sale.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of all products that they are required to sell including a practical understanding of the applications, technical performance, sales features and price points alongside those of our competitors.
  • Monitor market activity, prices, and market share, identify trends and opportunities and communicate same to line Manager along with personal ideas and recommendations.
  • Assist at exhibitions, seminars, presentations or other activities not necessarily directly related with their normal daily work.
