Our client is a well-established independent freight forwarder offering a hands-on approach to all of their clients with a base at Manchester cargo airport. We are now recruiting due to expansion and development an Air Import Customs operative tojoin the team handling air freight Duties will involve ..- Raising of import files, Completion & submission of import customs declarations to HM Customs- Provide an outstanding level of customer service to both internal & external clients- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of import customs declarations, customs clearance using Sequoia - Ensure correct payment and collection of import duty & VAT- Manage the release of consignments at airports- Manage post clearance actionExperience required..- Experience of air freight imports and ideally a competence in completing import customs declarations.- Experience from working for a freight forwarder in an import freight role- Ideally knowledge of Import Clearance systems, Chief/ASM/CNS/Destin8/BoxTop - Excellent communication skills- Strong attention to detail- Exceptional IT skills- Ability to work as part of a team or as an individual- Strong organisational & time management skillsBenefitsSalary £22,000 to £24,000 - dependent upon experience Pension Private healthcare
