Job Description

Finance Associate - Payments - Up to £24,000 - Manchester City CentreWorking in partnership with Search, this innovative, ambitious and hugely diverse national organisation is seeking a number of Finance Associates to join their P2P, payments team. The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in a AccountsPayable/P2P/Payments, gained from working in a busy shared service centre or large organisation.Based in the Manchester Shared Service Centre, the role profile:

  • To manage a number of accounts to ensure suppliers are paid according to agreed payment terms.
  • To ensure payments made to the supplier are accurate.
  • To resolve all supplier queries with accurate information and within SLA.
  • To liaise with other areas of the business to investigate and resolve issues for suppliers.
  • To investigate areas for improvement or simplification of all work practices.
  • To ensure goods are receipted accurately into stores and depots.
Core Accountabilities:
  • To investigate and resolve matched/unmatched invoices ensuring they are cleared to payment terms whilst delivering a great service to all of our suppliers.
  • To complete a thorough investigation of all queries received from suppliers and resolve within the control framework.
  • To work as part of an un-supervised team.
  • To improve accounts such that GRNI and outstanding invoices are current. Work pro-actively to keep accounts up to date.
  • Investigate recurring problems with the relevant department and establish the root cause to eradicate the problem.
  • To represent GFR at meetings with retail, supply chain and trading where necessary.
  • To provide input into new systems and perform user acceptance testing.
  • To be able to cover team members work, understanding unique roles they might perform and be able to carry them out effectively.
  • To be able to answer any phone query timely and in an efficient manner.
  • To question current processes and produce potential improvements within the team
