Job Description

Accounts AssistantSellick Partnership have been tasked to recruit a hardworking and motivated Accounts Assistant for our well established profitable multi-million turnover manufacturing client. The business has grown year on year and is on track with their strategic plan.Based in north Manchester, our client is eager to welcome an Accounts Assistant to the team due to the recent growth. This is a broad and all-encompassing role that will provide you with the end to end exposure of the full set of accounts of a business whichwill inevitably provide you with the relevant experience to become a fully qualified CIMA / ACCA accountant. Furthermore, you will be provided with a full financial study support package coupled with training and mentoring from an experienced hands on FinanceManager.General responsibilities includes:

  • Cashflow forecasting
  • Driving working capital improvements
  • Detailed stock reviews and analysis / reporting
  • Tracking material prices
  • Coordinating payment runs for approval
  • Supporting month end activities including posting journals, updating MCR commentary and producing balance sheet reconciliations for the FCC (Financial Controls Checklist)
  • Providing input to the month end forecasting process
  • Have input into the annual budgeting process
  • Monitor and track overhead spend to understand budget variances
  • Deliver improvements to local management reporting to aid delivery of targets
  • Support the credit control process
  • Review purchase price variances with procurement and provide detailed reporting and analysis
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties when required
The successful applicant will be AAT Qualified or Part-Qualified CIMA/ACCA ideally with a Finance and Accountancy degree coupled with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.You need to be Microsoft office packages literate and prior experience in other accountancy softwares is desirable but not essential.You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, with continuous improvement in mind, and the ability to motivate oneself, and others, to deliver a high standard of work to agreed timetables, evaluate progress and implement corrective action.If you consider yourself to be a proactive rather than reactive individual, committed, career driven professional who can demonstrate the above experience and who would welcome the stimulus of this finance post then we would be pleased to hear from you.If you believe your CV meets the criteria for this Accounts Assistant role, please apply with a copy of your CV toSellick Partnership is a market-leading professional services recruitment specialist operating across the UK.
