Job Description

Applications are invited for Academic Clinical Fellowships in conjunction with the University of Lancaster in Health Education North West starting in August 2021.We anticipate that 3 posts will be available across the following specialties:

  • Anaesthetics (ST3) – up to one post
  • Emergency Medicine (ST1) – up to one post
  • Neurology (ST3) – up to one post
  • General Practice (ST1/ST2) - up to two posts including one with a theme of Platform Science (“-omics”) and Bioinformatics
  • Palliative Medicine ((ST1/ST2/ST3) - up to one post
  • Paediatrics (ST1) - up to two posts including one with a theme of Platform Science (“-omics”) and Bioinformatics.
  • Public Health (ST1/ST2/ST3) - up to one post with a theme of Platform Science (“-omics”) and Bioinformatics.
    • Please note we also have ACF’s in conjunction with the University of Manchester and the University of Liverpool. For more information about these posts, please visit Oriel or see the attached summary.If you do not already hold an NTN or a DRN in this specialty, then this is a two-stage application process.Academic Clinical Fellowship process: Applicants will need to apply for an ACF by no later than Wednesday 4th November 2020 at 4pm UK time. Interviews will be held between 9th November 2020 – 15th January 2021. ACF offers, subject to clinical benchmarking, will be made from Thursday 21st January 2021.Clinical benchmarking process: Applicants applying to start their ACF post at ST1 level will need to submit an application for the relevant specialty or core training programme via Oriel between Thursday 5th November 2020 – Thursday 1st December 2020, closing at 4pm UK time. Applicants applying to start their ACF post at ST3 or ST4 level will need to submit an application for the relevant specialty via Oriel between Thursday 26th November – Thursday 17th December 2020, closing at 4pm UK time. If you are found appointable in this process, then your ACF post will be confirmed.
