Job Description

Juice is excited to be supporting an international organisation who are looking for an experienced Metadata Specialist to join them to work on a key project across a 3 month contract.Under the direction of the Data Product Owner, you will support the preparation and enhancement of metadata attached to existing data assets in readiness for migration to the Content Hub.This is a hybrid position, working at least 1 day onsite per week,As Metadata Specialist you will be responsible for:

  • Creating metadata for a wide range of resources, including loading of external data and the manual creation of bibliographic catalogue records.
  • Supporting the project team with development and maintenance of the new data/metadata schema.
  • Mapping existing metadata to the new schema.
  • Carrying out appropriate spot checking of catalogue records for new acquisitions which are imported into the library management system as part of the shelf-ready process.
  • Carrying out cataloguing of archival records, to ensure optimisation of the data and the system.
  • Tracking and reporting Digital Rights of images and related channels.
About You:
  • Passion for data and metadata management.
  • Previous experience working with Digital Asset Management Systems/Libraries would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience working with the media industry or physical archiving would be ideal, but not mandatory.
  • Degree in Information/Library Science, Archives or Records Management or related subject is desirable.
  • Practical understanding of metadata tagging and taxonomies.
  • Experience and understanding of digital asset management systems (Censhare is an advantage).
  • Experience with maintaining metadata across a large image library.
  • Experience with online Image libraries, for example: Shutterstock, etc
  • Inquisitiveness, willingness to push boundaries of operational data management to meet strategic needs of the business.
  • Problem solver, ability to question and challenge requests, when appropriate, to ensure quality and integrity of digital assets.
  • Proof of previously working in a role with the need for exceptional attention to detail.
