Job Description

Do you possess The IBMS Specialist diploma in Cellular Pathology a minimum of 2 years’ experience at AFC band 5 in a routine Histology laboratory a minimum of 1 years’ experience in immunohistochemistry and clear evidence of relevant continued professional development (CPD) activity (for own benefit and as an example to junior staff)Would you like to work as part of a small team and be involved in all aspects of the serviceIf you fit all of the above, this is an exciting opportunity for you to join our team of highly specialised and experienced scientists.Accredited under the UKAS Iso 15189 standards The Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust Molecular pathology Department provides both immunohistochemistry and Fluorescence in-situ hybridisation for Her-2 , Her-2 Fish, and detection of gene mutations for kRas and Braf via in house testing.Plans to expand the service to provide EGFR ALK and PD-L1 and a comprehensive in-house testing service for Lung cancer patients is an aspiration for 2021/22Experience in all testing regimes stated above is essential for the successful candidate to integrate quickly in to a busy Molecular Pathology Department knowledge of Cobas and Vysis 2000 platforms would be beneficial.The post requires the applicant to have working knowledge of Telepath LIMS and Qpulse QMS system. The post holder will liaise with the senior staff on a daily basis to ensure the smooth running of the service You must be an enthusiastic and a motivated team member with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
