Job Description

As the Head of Quality and HSE you will be responsible for driving performance across the quality function to ensure maximum customer satisfaction.Client DetailsMy client is a leading, Kent based, Manufacturing organisation.DescriptionAs the Head of Quality and HSE you will be responsible for driving performance across the quality function to ensure maximum customer satisfaction. Responsibilities will include;

  • Be the voice of the customer in all aspects of the organisation and processes to drive improvement through the business in terms of product reliability and customer experience.
  • Ensure that all products are reviewed as part of the design process for potential quality and manufacturing issues including DFM and DFA.
  • Ensure that quality is designed into products and processes.
  • Own the Quality Management System including process audits, document control, document management and regular updates delivering compliance with ISO9001.
  • Own the Health and Safety Management System including risk assessments, audits, document control, document management and regular updates delivering compliance with ISO45001.
  • Own the Environmental Management System including policies, risk assessments, audits, document control, document management and regular updates delivering compliance with ISO14001.
  • Chair the planned external audits by regulated bodies.
  • Own the Business Continuity Plan and ensure regular reviews and updates.
  • Own and lead the electrical safety training programme for employees.
  • Be a proactive business partner creating a culture of compliance and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
  • Own the Customer Care Process and related issues driving them to closure swiftly.
  • Manage internal and external customers expectations with efficiency and curtesy.
  • Manage quality KPIs, report on regular basis, monitor trends, issue warnings and start mitigation early, act on data to drive continuous improvement initiatives and plans.
  • Govern, improve, and maintain quality, environmental, health & safety policies, procedures and systems, championing a positive and effective QEH&S culture.
  • ProfileYou will have a proven track record in similar leadership role. Candidates who have had strong HSE exposure but not led the function will also be considered. Further selection criteria will include;
  • Relevant QEHS qualifications (ideally NEBOSH chartered or similar).
  • Track record of delivering quality excellence within the manufacturing industry.
  • Working knowledge with relevant standards, in particular ISO 9001 Quality Management, ISO45001 Health and Safety Management, and ISO 14001 Environmental Management
  • Experience developing and maintaining the Companys QEHS systems and encouraging a culture of excellence and compliance.
  • Knowledgeable with all aspects of the above standards, relevant legislation and compliance requirements and experience in working closely with external advisors to gain maximum benefit.
  • Have led a team successfully through change, ensuring inclusive team approach and provided support and development where appropriate.
  • High level of competency and accuracy in writing and maintaining clear and professional documentation relating to integrated management systems.
  • Process driven with strong analytical, planning, organisational and presentation skills.
  • Have experience in building culture of continuous improvement.
  • Be able to analyse and use data as a tool for improvement and present to users at all levels.
