Job Description

Finance Project Controller | Maidstone - Hybrid | £50kThis is a great opportunity to join a growing, Private Equity backed organisation as Finance Project Controller. You will be a highly skilled and experienced Project Cost Controller and will be responsible for ensuring a project stays within budget and meetscommercial objectives on time alongside both the Finance Team and Project Managers.Key areas of responsibility:

  • Manage the Revenue Recognition for a diverse portfolio of client projects.
  • Preparation of all project reporting (local and platform) including weekly Flash reporting and monthly/quarterly management accounts.
  • Preparation of financial plans, including annual budgeting and quarterly re-forecasting, for project Revenue, Cost of Sales, GP, Sales Orders and Backlog.
  • Variance Analysis and commentary supporting deviation to plans, project margin / customer profitability analysis.
  • Financial maintenance and ownership of the project financial records, including balance sheet reconciliations for Accrued/Deferred Revenue.
  • Weekly financial management of the project labour timesheets
  • Prepare schedule progress reports, trending charts and schedule analysis.
  • Analysing performance data to establish performance metrics
  • Reviewing project deadlines and budgets with the Project Managers
  • Collaborate and assist on alignment of cost and schedule data.
  • Maintain and control budgets from design concept through to project completion.
  • Provide detailed cost reporting daily or weekly updates, as required.
  • Identify and evaluate potential changes and review of contractor invoices.
  • Coordinate implementation plan with project teams and escalate areas of misalignment and improvement.
  • Examine requests for budget revisions, recommend approval or denial and draft correspondence.
  • Present results of cost analysis to Directors and Clients when required
  • Ensure alignment with the clients portfolio controls governance and objectives.
  • Assist with update to projections on cash flows, staffing plans and contingency usage.
  • Assisting with work scope and preparing overall schedules and budgets on various sized projects.
Required skills:
  • Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
  • Project Accounting or Financial reporting experience
  • Strong knowledge of financial compliance and regulation specifically with contract accounting
  • Passionate and confident with continuous improvement ethos.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent IT and financial systems skills
  • Experience of working in a cost-conscious environment
  • Ability to perform assignments independently with supervision and guidance as required
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
