Job Description Job Purpose

  • To bring flair, passion, excitement and enjoyment to Food and Beverage training in the Rank Group, changing the way we engage and develop our venues colleagues
  • Lead the Rank Group F&B training team, taking ownership of all elements of Food and Beverage training within the organisation
  • To work with the F&B, operations, L&D, HR and marketing teams to develop and a comprehensive Food and Beverage training program that is aligned with our transformation and operational objectives, Rank Food Safety Policy and STARS values
  • To oversee the delivery of exceptional training in venues that will empower all venue colleagues to give memorable guest experiences
  • To work together with the F&B management, HR, L&D and operations teams to create and deliver and industry leading academy training model for the Rank Group
  • Develop, deliver, oversee and evolve Rank Groups brand standards and standard operating procedures for food and beverage
Main Accountabilities and ResponsibilitiesStrategic
  • Support the creation and delivery of the Rank Group F&B strategy
  • Understand and support the delivery of Rank Groups transformation agenda
  • Support the Head of Food and Beverage in the delivery of departmental, operational and transformation change
  • Create training programs to support operational and transformation projects regarding colleague development and exceptional guest experience
Project
  • Take a lead role in successfully launching new Food and Beverage offers across both brands
  • Represent the Food and Beverage training function at any relevant project meetings
  • Represent the F&B team regarding all elements of training, learning and development within the wider business, such as HR, L&D and marketing
  • Own training delivery timelines, structure, agenda and content of all projects
  • Work with ROMs and GMs to successfully engage and develop our venues colleagues
Development
  • Develop, build and deliver the Food and Beverage training program and all supporting materials working in partnership with the L&D, HR and operations teams
  • Develop, build and deliver Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all aspects of the Food and Beverage proposition including, but not limited to; customer service, use of ordering technology, speed of service, management and supervision, perfect serve,competency in managing food and beverage operations such as bar set up and service, upselling, merchandising
  • Develop, build and deliver the Food and Beverage Brand Standards and all supporting materials in partnership with the F&B, operations and marketing teams
  • Work with external brand partners and suppliers to support and deliver Rank Group training content
Operational
  • Support the oversight, along with F&B and operations teams, of Rank Group food and beverage brand standards in venues through a comprehensive audit program in conjunction with the relevant National Food and Beverage Operations Managers
  • Support venues with ongoing collague development and engagement as part of the food and beverage training agenda
  • Highlight training requirements in venues and/or regions and deploy resource accordingly
  • Support and assist all venue teams to maintain Food and Beverage training records
  • Work across brands as required during periods of national or regional offer mobilisation
  • Leverage opportunities on digital platforms and social media to improve engagement levels in F&B teams
Guest
  • To embed within the venue teams an ethos of delivering exceptional customer experiences
  • Constantly look to at how training can evolve to support improving guest experience
  • To regularly review and make recommendations on brand and venue NPS data
Shareholder
  • Ensure all units operate within statutory obligations and company policy, particularly around security, health & safety, compliance processes and procedures, enhanced due diligence and responsible gaming
  • Understand and deliver Rank Group transformation strategy and objectives
  • Always seek out ways to improve shareholder value through driving exceptional guest and colleague experience
Safety
  • Be an advocate of Health and Safety and Food Safety at all times while in venues
  • Actively engage and train the venue teams in Food Safety and Health and Safety
  • Lead a zero harm culture, and have a never turn your back on a hazard mentality
  • Report to management any areas of concern regarding safety while in venues
Qualifications
  • Experience of group training within the food and beverage industry
  • Experience within the pub, restaurant or leisure industry at a supervisor or management level
  • Good knowledge of IT (Powerpoint, Excel, EPOS)
  • Full UK driving license
  • Food Safety Level 2 (minimum)
