Job Description

Quality role based within a successful FMCG companyFlextime, Pension, mon-Friday roleClient DetailsSuccessful FMCG Manufacturer in MaccelesfieldDescriptionThe successful Quality Engineers duties will consist of the followingCo-ordinate the quality process and systemsIdentify and develop processes to manage Continous improvement in qualityManage the BRC-GS & ISO9001 certification including documentation, procedures and trainingLiasing with customers and suppliers to establish product quality specifications, test protocols, and procedures specfic to indiviudal products and contracts in conjunction with the appropriate buisness manager and process manager. This is essential at theproduct development stage.Provide aufit functions

  • Provide effective day to day management of the Quality function in the organisation
  • Continuously develop, review and improve the company quality system, ensuring it remains fit for purpose.
  • Communicate, motivate, and support the workforce and encourage effective employee engagement.
  • Police the management of the systems to verify compliance to formal procedures and ensure procedures are in themselves effective and well defined.
  • Make day-to-day decisions regarding quality of products - a hands on approach is essential.
  • Identify where there is business risk due to the lack of competence in key functional areas that may results in weaknesses. Either be equipment or personnel.
  • Work closely with the customer facing side of the business to ensure understanding of customer quality requirements to provide product fit for purpose. This may include leading customer visits to investigate and understand the nature of a quality concern.
  • Co-ordinate the management of customer & supplier quality audits.
  • Manage accreditation audits by external organisations e.g. ISO 9001 & BRC-GS.
  • Provide a record keeping system as required to allow quality investigations and analysis.

  • Proven ability in managing quality systems ensuring they are business en chancing
  • Communication skills with customer / department heads and suppliers
  • Ability to co-ordinating and organising people
  • Commercial awareness
  • Proven track record of dealing with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholder including face to face contact
  • Competent IT skills ( database, spreadsheet , internet search )
  • Educated to a degree level or equivalent in relevant subject or can show previous work to support
  • Problem solving ( Six sigma )
Desirable
  • understanding of paper-making web processing, coating and mixing or a similar industry which you can transfer your skills to
  • Experience of working with food safe products and understanding
  • Experience with Q-Pulse or Equivalent quality system software
  • Certification in Quality Assurance
  • BRC training
  • Science or Engineering degree
