Production ManagerLocation: Macclesfield, Cheshire, SK10 2NZ.Salary: Top salary package for the right person.Contract: Full time, permanent.RoBAT Ltd has a small multi-disciplined team of 25 people designing and manufacturing, high value robotic machines for testing all types of printed circuit boards in our Macclesfield, Cheshire headquarters. Most of our sales are in China and the USA wherewe have our own small factories and staff employed to provide local support for the machines. We have established ourselves as the market leader in our niche market.Our products are used by some of the largest companies in the world (e.g. Cisco Systems, Ericsson, Oracle, Nokia, Google).Production Manager - About the role:This is a unique role requiring a mix of systematic organisational skills and practical "get it done" engineering skills spread across a wide range of technologies (precision mechanics, motion control, machine vision and electronics). You will have an engineeringbackground (either formally trained or time served) and ultimately be responsible for the build efficiency and on-time assembly (to the right quality) of our machines. You will also have at least some involvement in inventory control, quality management andcontrol and cost analysis. We estimate the role will be half desk based and half shop floor based.Essential requirements: Experience of the assembly of complex machines in low a volume environment. A natural ability to plan and overcome unexpected obstacles and lead a small team. A decisive and assertive approach with a strong work ethic and perseverance. Wide knowledge of both mechanical and electronic manufacturing processes. Experience with MRP/ERP systems Eligibility to work in the UKDesirable requirements: Previous exposure to robotics and/or automation equipment The position will ideally suit someone who prefers to be a very big cog in a fairly small wheel.Occasional world-wide travel will be necessary.What we offer in return:RoBAT offers an excellent working environment within a close-knit team.
