CK Group are currently recruiting for a Lead Cheminformatician to join on established research team with a growing biotechnology company. This role is offered on a permanent basis and based near Macclesfield and Knutsford (Cheshire). The Company:The aim of the company is to accelerate innovative drug discovery and collaborate with academia and industry to develop new approaches for discovering the medicines of the future.The Role:The Lead Cheminformatician will advance the scientific contribution ofcheminformaticswithin the business and provide expert insight intothecheminformatics practical needs ofthe Discoverylabscientists,developinginnovative cheminformatics solutions toacceleratethe sectors success of developing new therapeutics.Responsibilities will include to:-Shapethe scientific contribution, including line management responsibility,from thecheminformaticiansworking across multiple internal and external translational science projects.-Lead the cheminformatics strategy of the company.-Develop collaborative innovationin partnership with world class lab scientistsand workwith strategic collaborators to developcheminformaticssolutions.-Work with thebusinessengagement team to develop and support business opportunities.Your Background:-APhDina relevant areaofcomputationalchemistry, cheminformaticsor equivalent degree, along withextensiveexperiencein academic or industrialdrugdiscovery.-Proven ability inleading and coaching individuals and teams, and in advancing matrix team success.-Expert understanding ofdrug action, pharmacology andthe drug discovery process, ideally covering both small molecule therapeutics and biological therapeutics.-Experience gathering requirements, developing software, managing databases, analysing data to provide cheminformatics solutions.-Expertise in cheminformatics analyses techniques and key application areascoveringareas such astarget analysis, drug properties and databases, lead optimisation and predictive ADMET.Apply:Entitlement to work in the UK is essential.
