Job DescriptionLocated in south Manchester, Cheshire, and offering a very flexible hybrid working week, a fast paced and growing research / medical business are looking to hire a Governance, Risk & Compliance Officer to support with the development and maintenance of thefirms Risk Management Framework.This is a varied and interesting role working on a range of risk, governance, and compliance matters with an emphasis on enabling the business to run effectively and efficiently, within a framework for decision-making and accountability to reduce risks,improve performance and build trust with internal and external stakeholders.Role responsibilities:Support the Executive team and extended leadership in governance, risk and compliance.Subject matter expert for risk management and control capability, providing technical excellence and a practical approach to assessing and supporting the leadership team in enterprise risk management.Day to day implementation and management of risk control tools and systems under the Risk Management Framework.Through liaison with the Executive team, enable a standardised risk-based decision-making culture across the business where risks are identified and owned at an early stage of projects or initiatives, and risk management and mitigation is a normal part ofbusiness operations Actively support in the development of policies, standards and processes for corporate and local risk management, in support of the risk owners and aligned with the Risk Management Framework.Work closely with risk owners to identify clear training requirements and support the generation and delivery of training on risk management practicesUnderstand the laws, rules, regulations, standards and ethical practices that govern the business working with the Executive team to ensure that our operations are compliant and align to best practice where appropriate.Support in the development and maintenance of comprehensive business continuity, incident response and disaster recovery processes and practiceLiaise with the Executive team to Monitor routine compliance activities and effectiveness of internal controls, in support of any internal audit activities, to develop and implement internal and external compliance policies, procedures and programmes andprovide guidance and training to staff.Personal attributes & experienceGood knowledge of the principles of risk management and experience of identifying, assessing, monitoring and mitigating risk.Experience of advising upon and implementing effective policies and procedures to ensure compliance with law and regulation.A high degree of initiative, personal judgment, resourcefulness, flexibility and a self-motivating approach.Excellent communication and presentation skills and excellent writing skills, including the ability to write high quality reports and briefings in a clear style for different audiences.Adaptability - the ability to manage multiple priorities and complete tasks in accordance with deadlines based on only broad direction with minimum supervision.Please note, should feedback not be received within 28 days due to the large volume of applications, unfortunately, your application has been unsuccessful.
