Job Description

Senior AccountantWe’re proud to be working with an award-winning accounting firm in Peterborough, specialising in tax and compliance. Established in 2011, with over 15 years’ experience, our client offers the very best service and advice in all areas of personal and businesstax. They’re looking to recruit a Senior Accountant who has previous experience working in a small busy accounting practice.The role: If successful you will join the existing team working on all aspects of accountancy, with a focus on personal tax and business tax. There will be the need to travel to clients’ premises as required.Typical duties to include:

  • Preparation of Limited Company, LLPs, partnership and sole trader accounts
  • Preparation of self-assessment and corporation tax returns
  • Preparation of management accounts
  • Developing new client relationships whilst maintaining existing client relationships
  • Helping the more junior members of the team
The candidate: You will ideally have a minimum of 3 years’ experience within a practice environment with experience of using accounting software. Our client is looking for someone with a broad knowledge of entrepreneurial type clients andissues facing owner managed businesses, who understands their accountancy needs. High attention to detail with strong time management and organisation skills are required for this role. You will be a self-motivated individual with a proactive approach.Key requirements of the Senior Accountant:
  • Ideally you will be ACCA/ ICAEW fully qualified (will also consider part qualified as our client offers ongoing study support)
  • An in depth, technical knowledge and experience of any of the following accounting software; Sage, Xero, Quickbooks, Dext (previously Receipt Bank)
  • You will be highly personable and approachable with excellent communication skills
  • Previous experience of attending meetings with clients
  • Will have an appetite to develop and advance your skills, whilst keeping up with the latest technical advances
  • Must be able to manage own workload and prioritise effectively and work under pressure to tight deadlines
