Job Description

The Role & Key ResponsibilitiesLocation: Peterborough (UK) HybridAB Agri are looking for an experienced Sales Ledger Manager to work within our Central Finance Team. The Sales Ledger Manager will manage a team of 5 and will report to our Head of Financial Operations. This position will be to cover maternity leave fora 12 mth fixed term contract.The successful candidate should be a self starter with ideally previous supervisory or management of a Sales Ledger team. We are looking for some one who is deadline orientated with good attention to detail and is able to motivate and organise the team dayto day and around month end priorities.As a Sales Ledger Manager your main responsibilities will be:

  • Managing the daily operations within Sales Ledger to ensure invoices are raised accurately and in a timely manner
  • Resolve all Bank Reconciliations & Intersystem differences, net off all intercompany balances on a weekly basis and ensure all clear downs are performed prior to month end cut off
  • Ensuring month end duties are managed across the team and deadlines are met accordingly
  • Engaging with and supporting key stakeholders, colleagues and other finance departments across the business to ensure the function runs as efficiently as possible whilst meeting business needs
  • To generate sales ledger/nominal GL journals as required - Intersystem journals, write offs, etc.
  • Develop and monitor appropriate controls to mitigate risk
  • Monitor and generate KPIs within Sales Ledger, providing monthly reports on team performance and statistics
  • Drive process improvements and identify system inefficiencies within Sales Ledger
  • Manage a small team across all aspects of performance, development, queries, escalations and absence management whilst motivating the team to perform at their best in their role

  • A strong sales ledger background with previous supervisory or management experience
  • Thrives in a deadline driven environment with good attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and lead/motivate a team
  • Customer focused with the ability to problem solve and has an improvement mindset to processes
  • Confident and resilient with experience of working in a fast paced, high volume transaction environment
