Job Description

The Role & Key ResponsibilitiesLocation: Hybrid - PeterboroughAre you a Junior IT Project Manager looking for the next step in your career where you can progress in the future and gain exposure to a varied portfolio of IT projectsIn this role you will gain the opportunity to work on a broad portfolio of IT projects across infrastructure, hardware/software installation, upgrade, new acquisition and ERP projects with a budget between 10k to 20m. Taking responsibility of deliveringcertain work streams across larger projects and planning, managing and delivering the smaller projects ensuring they are delivered to time, quality and budget.The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of project management including regular RAID and progress reporting to senior management teams, managing budgets and controlling costs, managing risks and issues and mitigation planning when required.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist with and take on the Management of projects in line with IT standards, processes and governance through all stages of a project life cycle.
  • Manage project budgets
  • Develop and maintain project plans; track progress against plans and manage progress through project lifecycle
  • Manage project scope and change control and escalate issues where necessary
  • Support the organisation of Project Steering Boards, submitting regular Checkpoint Reports indicating any deviations from plan at either stage or project level and any corrective action taken
  • Ensure project objectives are understood and met, ensuring that the Project Team members understand the requirements
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to further develop their IT Project management skills with a small well-established and experienced team. They will offer support and guidance to the successful candidate so that they can be as successful aspossible in their role and continue to personally develop in the future.We are looking for the following knowledge, skills, and experience:
  • Achieved or working towards Formal Certified Waterfall Project Management Methodology (e.g. Prince II Practitioner)
  • Experience in working on or leading projects within medium to large scale organisations including at least one of enterprise, digital and infrastructure projects.
  • Have excellent planning, communication and influencing skills
