Our vision is to free lives from the restrictions, fear, anxiety and life limiting nature of kidney disease.The head of policy and external affairs is a new senior leadership position that will be central to the delivery of our 2020-2030 Strategy. We know that to make a difference to people affected by kidney disease we need to put kidney disease firmly on the UK’s health policy agenda. We need to systematically build evidence and develop solutions in key priority areas, then campaign effectively for their implementation. To do this we need a policy and campaigning function that works seamlessly with our research and innovation teams to continually focus our efforts on delivering real change for people with kidney disease.Head of policy and external affairs requirements:You will be an experienced policy and external affairs professional, excited by the opportunity to build and lead a new policy and campaigning function that will change outcomes for people with kidney disease. But these treatments come at a cost. They can be gruelling, confining, relentless. A transplant is not a cure, they rarely last a lifetime.Kidney disease still affects three million people in the UK. And one million of those don’t know they are at risk. That’s three million people who are someone’s parents, grandparents, children, friends.And kidney failure is rising, as are the factors contributing to it, such as diabetes and obesity.That’s why our work is more essential than ever.Research is what we do. It is the only way to discover future preventions, treatments and cures. It is vital to keep our loved ones safe.
