Job Description

Were looking for a talented Buyer with demonstrable commercial expertise to work for our client, ideally based in the East Midlands.As a highly experienced purchasing professional with strong analytical and reporting skills you would provide commercial procurement support for the companys construction supply chain, managing a portfolio of suppliers with the aim of ensuring QCD performance.This is a key role, you would lead business review meetings involving the key stakeholders within the businessCompetitive Salary with excellent benefits which include 25 days annual holidays plus bank holidays, car / car allowance, Bupa options, health insurance and life assurance. Hybrid working arrangement with 3 days per week in the office, 2 days remote.----The RoleReporting to and working closely alongside the Head of Procurement you would implement a procurement category strategy whilst managing the Groups expenditure with external suppliers. You would play a key role as part of a fast-paced function, leading businessreview meetings involving the key stakeholders within the business.Key responsibilities will include…- Develop procurement category strategy which generate benefits and achieve financial savings targets- Implement strategies to guarantee the best "Total Cost of Ownership"- Lead in efficient and effective expediting to ensure products are delivered on time and to correct quality standards- Set up and maintain supply frame agreements and contracts- Identify suppliers to implement consignment stock and Kanbans based on their specific commodities- Analyse supply markets to identify potential suppliers and market trends- Identify internal and external cost drivers in each category- Visit supplier premises as required to ensure goals and objectives are achieved----The CandidateThe ideal candidate for this Buyer opportunity will have relevant commercial purchasing experience with a good knowledge of purchasing best practise, ideally with a proven track record as part of a multi-site business.
