Job Description

Youth Employment CoachSpider is advertising for a leading Suffolk Charity that is looking for two Youth Employment Coaches to join them. One role will be looking after West Suffolk and surrounding areas, and the other role will be looking afterLowestoft and the surrounding area.This is an exciting opportunity to join one of Suffolks most energetic charities. The Charity aspires to see generations of young people empowered to raise their ambitions and realise their potential through the work that they do.The Youth Employability Coach will be part of the Youth Employment Service, which is a drop-in service for any young person (16 to 25 years) not engaged in education, employment, or training (NEET). The service provides information, advice, signposting,and practical support for any young person seeking information on employment, education, and progression routes to help them into paid work, work placements, employment, voluntary work (as a steppingstone into work and a way to get work ready), education,apprenticeships and/or training. The Youth Employment Coach will work across West Suffolk or Lowestoft, and surrounding areas working with young people and organisations within these areas. You will be the point of contact for local young people, referralpartners and Parents/Guardians.Key objectives of the Youth Employment Coach role:

  • Deliver 1-2-1 and group workshops with specific focusing on employability skills, job searching and IAG
  • Work with the Employer Engagement Advisor to screen and match candidates to current and relevant local vacancies
  • Create innovative ways to engage and reach young people in rural areas that cannot access the main hub due to transport issues/links
  • Proactively engage with external partners and local employers to ensure Labour Market Information (LMI) remains current
  • Deliver impartial Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) and support with CVs, job searching and interview preparation
  • To proactively achieve outcome KPIs of 55% of young people into employment and 25% onto further training or education
  • To take personal responsibility for the understanding and application of the Inspire Suffolk Values
  • The role will be delivered in either West Suffolk or Lowestoft and surrounding areas, with occasional travel to the charitys main site in Ipswich.
Essential Requirements for this role include:
  • Proven experience of supporting disadvantaged young people (NEET) aged 16-24 years of age into sustainable outcomes
  • Previous recruitment experience or outward bound or direct delivery youth work,outreach, or equivalent
  • Experience of sourcing a range of different pathways towards the labour market,
  • tailored to young peoples needs, aspirations and local Labour Market Information (LMI)
  • Proven experience delivering employability skill programmes across a range of sectors.
  • Previous experience working with young people aged 1624 years of age.
  • Experience of writing lesson plans, schemes of work and energiser activities.
  • Full clean driving licence
This is a full-time position with a salary on offer of £20,000-£24,000 per annum.
