With over 40 operational windfarms, we manage all of our sites through our world leading Control Centre at Whitelee Windfarm., near Glasgow.At ScottishPower Renewables, we know people are central to building a better future, quicker and we are seeking new talent to join our team.PurposeThe Senior Authorised Person (SAP) sits within the O&M Team based in Lowestoft and reports directly to the Deputy Site Manager. The SAP will ensure electrical safety from the system though the application of the SPR Electrical High Voltage Safety Rules (HVSRs) whilst ensuring that the operational performance of the site assets and the transmission asset is maximised through minimising outages.Responsibilities* Lead and implement the SPR safety culture and values maximising offshore H&S performance through strict adherence to and application of SPR HVSRs.* Gain SAP and Control Person authorisation up to 400KV under the SPR ESRs* Ensure optimum availability of the site through effective outage planning and management which minimises the duration of any outages.* Manage the authorisation process of competent persons under the SR ESRs* Perform the role of SAP at voltages between 66kV and 400 kV* Ensure that local management instructions, relevant codes of practice and the HVSRs are implemented* Prepare switching schedules for maintenance tasks, installation work, fault location and repair where required* Keep records on daily activities and performance of subcontractors* Organise and execute HV switching, isolation, earthing, identification of the point of work and issue of safety documentation duties on HV networks up to 400kV* Perform site risk assessments * Review third party contractor risk assessments and method statements to ensure these are comprehensive and fulfil necessary requirements* Supervise and monitor the performance of equipment OEMs and other contractors for electrical maintenance equipment* Prepare periodic maintenance reports of serviced assets to highlight performance trends in order to identify issues and make recommendations on corrective actions* Support the Deputy Site Manager in the management of electrical equipment service and maintenance contractorsSkills and Requirements* Strong knowledge of the roles and obligations under electrical/mechanical safety rules systems* Hold HV SAP authorisation at 66kV and above (up to 400kV)* Experienced in performing the role of Senior Authorised Person in an industry with similar operational and safety challenges* Experienced in the use of wind farm control systems (e.g. SCADA or similar)and experience in the use of SAP IT or similar systems* Experience in the development of management system documentation (Procedures and processes) as part of an ISO:9001 accredited system or similar * Communication and interpersonal skills at a high level in order to be effective in the monitoring and influencing of third party contractors.* Ability to make decisions in a pressurised environment without compromising safety* Ability to identify practical solutions to technical issues affecting the operation of the site HV network and equipment* Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team* Ability to work within a multi-national organisation.* Flexible towards the operation of the wind farm ‘To be successful in a role you will need to demonstrate as minimum:* HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent compensatory experience* Senior Authorised Person (SAP) under safety rules of a DNO/NGET/Power Generating company* Experienced in HV Electrical Maintenance in the Offshore Wind industry or an industry with similar operational and safety challenges* Practical experience of the asset management of industrial HV and LV systems, including resource planning and maintenance project delivery * Working knowledge of SCADA systemsOur Selection ProcessCompetency based interview.What we OfferThis is a Permanent contract, with a salary from £36,384 per annum for 40.5 hour week plus a performance related bonus up to 10%.As part of our commitment to a supportive and inclusive place to work, we recognise that our employees have different personal circumstances and want a suitable work-life balance.
