You will be responsible for your own service lines but our Operations Managers work closely together in each Locality to develop and manage a range of services that include daytime opportunities and, supported living so you will need to develop a good working knowledge of these too.John Turner House Short Breaks Unit (Respite Care):We provide a range of high-quality respite care and short break options for people with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs. John Turner House, Lowestoft, offers eight individually designed bedrooms with their own TV and free access to Wi-Fi. This Unit has just undergone a full refurbishment, now offering a standalone flatlet and ensuites in every room. It is just a short walk from the town centre and a large selection of shops and cafes. Short Breaks at Leading Lives is a valued opportunity for customers to enjoy a break from home and experience a range of activities and skills whilst offering family carers a valuable break from their caring responsibilities.Further information about our fantastic short breaks offer in Lowestoft can be found on our website.Day Opportunities:Our Day Opportunities are primarily delivered from two Hubs in this area as well as the community where a variety of creative activities and experiences take place. It offers supported learning, skills development, and leisure events.Saxmundham Hub is a bright busy service which will is due to move into newly renovated premises at the end of the year.Lowestoft Hub offers an exciting program of things to do in a well-resourced and equipped vibrant environment.About You:We are looking for someone with high energy and the ability to adapt and flex to the ever-changing requirements in the care industry with the passion to support our core values and a willingness to learn and progress in a demanding role.You will be passionate about delivering and developing services to support our customers to lead the lives they choose.The right person will be able to work with and lead Team Managers to develop teams as well as the services. As an Operations Manager you will be a senior member of the Leading Lives team, so you must be an exceptional role model with a talent for business development and the ability to coach and develop those around you.You will support and develop our staff who work with a diverse range of vulnerable people. We need proactive problem solving and commitment to resolve the challenges this can bring. The right person will be able to contribute to policy and have a sound knowledge of CQC and the social care industry.This is a great opportunity to grow the service, yourself and your team.Skills and knowledge required:• Ideally a QCF Level 5 in Management Care or hold a qualification so that you can register with CQC.• Ability to motivate and lead staff, setting a clear example of our core values• Ability to work with colleagues and the local team to deliver on the strategic and local business plan.• Experience at a management level within the social care or voluntary sector.• Operational budget management experience.• Ability to communicate confidently and effectively with a range of people across different situations.• Ability to work under pressure, planning and prioritising tasks in order to meet deadlines. • Problem solver, able to make informed decisions, working alone as required but also enjoy working as part of a team.• Ability to identify and develop new opportunities / solutions to individuals’ support requirements (individuals and commissioners).• Awareness of Health & Safety requirements in the social care sector.• Maintain effective working relationships with partner agencies e.g. health, voluntary sector and social work teams.• Good understanding and record of delivering reports, data requirements and information in a timely fashion and to a competent standard.• A strong ability to draft action and business plans, illustrating strategic thinking with clear objectives, outcomes and completion dates.For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Rebecca Steer, Operations Director - contact details can be found on our website.Due to the current COVID-19 situation, interviews will be conducted virtually.
