JOB DESCRIPTION: Mechanical Design Engineer - Packaging machineryWe’re part of a Global manufacturer of packaging machinery. This Mechanical Design Engineer role is office based ( but we will let you go out & visit customers now & again to support the sales teams technically). We boast Coca Cola & Uniliver as some of our customers.As an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer, youll join an existing experienced design team (some placed by Wallace Hind) that provide bespoke automation, packaging machinery & robotics solutions to customers based on their specific packaging machinery requirements. We offer much more than an "off the shelf" product & system.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Mechanical Design Engineer - Packaging machinery· Mechanically design our bespoke packaging machines – we use SolidWorks & AUTOCAD Inventor· Collaborate with the Project Managers, Applications Engineers & the Controls Engineering team to achieve a complete engineered packaging system for a packaging machine · Produce Bills of Materials & drawing packs for production· Designed machinery compliant with ISO9000/ISO9001 PERSON SPECIFICATION: Mechanical Design Engineer - Packaging machinery· The bullseye for this Mechanical Design Engineer role is that you are currently, or have previously designed packaging machinery or similar, maybe within the PPMA· However, we are happy to consider any mechanical design engineering background on process equipment, special purpose machinery, conveyors, materials handling and/or robotics into the Food/Pharmaceutical/Chemical/Cosmetics/Distribution sectors or similar etc · You will be skilled in 2D and 3D CAD design (SolidWorks or AUTOCAD Inventor is preferred, but don’t not apply just because you’re skilled in CREO, Pro-Engineer or Solid Edge etc)If you have any additional experience in Robotics / creating simulations of Robotic Solutions (KukaSIM or Robot Studio) then that would be advantageous to us.THE COMPANY:We provide a bespoke engineering solution to automated packaging systems, supplying into a variety of manufacturers, warehousing and factories within food, FMCG, distribution, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and fast-moving consumer goods.It is highly likely you will have worked in any of the following roles and/or markets, and worked with the following products and/or services: Applications Engineer, Design Engineer, robotics, SolidWorks, Inventor, packaging, PPMA, Project Engineer, mechanical design, packaging machinery, AutoCADINTERESTED Please click apply.
