Job Description

LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST - IT SUPPORT AND ADMINISTRATIONLOWESTOFTFULL TIME - PERMANENTSALARY DOEOur client, a well established food manufacturing company, are looking for a Laboratory Technologist - IT Support and Administration to join their team.The Central Laboratory specialises in the microbiological, physical, sensory and chemical analysis of food products including the monitoring of food production practices. In addition, it provides a comprehensive advisory service to the Quality Assurance,Development and Manufacturing functions in all aspects of food quality, safety and legality.Main Job PurposeThe job holder will be responsible for leading a comprehensive technical and analytical laboratory support service across the Company with a primary focus on IT administration including set up of new products/ materials, data recording, reporting and dataanalysis.Key Accountabilities

  • Administration of laboratory IT systems and processes e.g. Unilab, SAP, BPP, Trend Analysis, IOOS Materials and products set up in the Lab systems.
  • Stock decisions based on specifications.
  • Administration and auditing of lab accreditation scheme
  • Reporting of adverse result trends.
  • Preparation and dispatch of samples for third party analysis
  • Recording of analytical results from third party laboratories and other non-Laboratory areas
  • Stock Control, equipment service/ maintenance scheduling and associated purchasing
Skills/Experience/Competencies
  • High level of IT literacy including strong Excel skills, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Databases.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills along with excellent attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and organised with strong team commitment.
  • Must have GCSE qualifications in Mathematics, English and Science, grade C or above, preferable to have a science based A Level grade C or above or relevant experience in a food analytical laboratory.
