Job Description

Aura Graphics is one of Europes leading commercial graphics and visual communications companies. We provide branding and image management services. We do this principally using high performance print, graphic & refurbishment solutions. Over the years weve packaged these with complementary services to deliver a full suite of flexible project solutions. We design, make and deliver product and service solutions to implement and manage corporate identity and brand experience across all company assets.An exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Technicianwith the company. The role will be based at our head office in Lowestoft, Suffolk. A dynamic role centred around providing 1st and 2nd line IT support across the organisation, however, with ample opportunity to contribute to systems and process improvement and development across the business. The role is a combination of on-site and remote support and also entails a variety of wider IT project implementation.Core Responsibilities & Tasks

  • Monitor Helpdesk System for tickets
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems, networks and telephony systems.
  • Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications.
  • Local and remote support sessions to help staff and clients set up systems or resolve issues.
  • Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
  • Replacing parts as required.
  • Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports.
  • Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system.
  • Supporting the roll-out of new applications.
  • Setting up new users accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues.
  • Responding within agreed time limits to call-outs.
  • Working continuously on a task until completion (or referral to third parties, if appropriate).
  • Prioritising and managing multiple cases and projects at same time.
  • Rapidly establishing a good working relationship with customers and other professionals, such as software developers.
  • Testing and evaluating new technology.
  • Conducting electrical safety checks on computer equipment.
  • Sourcing, ordering and configuring equipment (phones, computers, printers, etc.)
  • Occasional overnight travel to Staffordshire and Berkshire offices.
  • Desirable System Knowledge All though not all items are absolute requirements and provision for training will be provided, as wide a knowledge base as possible is an advantage.

  • macOS & iOS configuration
  • Basic SQL commands
  • PowerShell script
  • DNS, DHCP and network management
  • Office 365 administration
  • Exchange & Office Online, 2016, 2013, 2007
  • Mobile Device Management
  • VOIP Phones (Mitel preferable)
  • IIS and Linux stack knowledge
  • Website dev knowledge - PHP, ASP.Net, HTML, CSS
  • Interest and knowledge of business process improvement & data analysis beneficial for onward progression.
  • Transferable Skills & Approach
  • Excellent to detail and retention of information.
  • Excellent organisation, prioritisation and record keeping.
  • Logical thinking and problem-solving.
  • Excellent listening and questioning skills combined with the ability to interact confidently with clients to establish what the problem is and explain the solution.

  • Qualifications & Experience Prerequisites
  • You should have at least one recognised IT related qualification.
  • Preferably you will have had experience working in an IT helpdesk environment.
  • Valid UK Driving Licence preferred.
