Lowestoft BID Town Centre Development ManagerSuffolk Chamber of Commerce, the largest independent business organisation in Suffolk, has an exciting opportunity for a new Lowestoft Business Improvement District (BID) Town Centre Development Manager to lead on the work Lowestoft Vision does to support the town of Lowestoft.This is an exciting new role that will give you the opportunity to take on a leadership position that supports local business, retail and other organisations in Lowestoft during a time of regeneration and investment for the town.Suffolk Chamber of Commerce is a vibrant grassroots organisation that supports the whole of the countys business community, and is in a unique position to deliver Lowestoft Vision, the Business Improvement District for Lowestoft. We are as passionate aboutour staff as we are about business, and we offer a superb support package for our employees which includes a healthcare package, attendance at social and business events, and a variety of flexible working opportunities.We are looking for an experienced and motivated BID Development Manager to deliver the aims of Lowestoft Vision as it begins its third five-year term in April 2023 intent on making Lowestoft a better place to visit, shop, and do business, and to deliversignificant initiatives to help boost business through our key aims of Pride of Place, Regenerate, Protect and Represent which are outlined in our business plan on the Lowestoft Vision website.Lowestoft Vision provides essential support to our BID businesses that builds upon Lowestofts aim as a vibrant and prosperous place to do business, and to champion BID businesses with stakeholders and on a number of town centre committees.You will be responsible for managing the income from the 298 businesses in the BID area, which generates around £180,000 income pa, as well as sourcing additional income to help us provide even greater value for businesses and enables flexibility and opportunityregarding the variety of projects and initiatives and how they can be delivered.The ideal BID Development Manager will have a good understanding of Business Improvement Districts and their role in supporting local business and place, although training will be given to the right candidate who can evidence excellent leadership,people and financial management, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to source funding through grants and sponsorship.A good working knowledge of Lowestoft town centre and the ability to attract footfall and build relationships is imperative, as you will be the key point of contact for organisations within the BID area as well as with our board and stakeholders. You willbe supported by an Operations and Finance Manager who will assist you in delivering events and marketing for the town as well as providing administrative and financial support, so line management experience would be of benefit, as well as the ability to managebudgets.Key skills of the BID Development Manager:
