Family Hub Practitioner- West Essex - Loughton, Chigwell and Buckhurst Hill areaSalary Negotiable within BandingFT 37 HrsAbout our serviceThe Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service (ECFWS) brings together a range of existing services, having been commissioned by Essex County Council and the West Essex Clinical Commissioning Group.The service, which is provided by HCRG Care Group in partnership with Barnardos, ensures that families continue to have easy access to local services, with staff able to reach children and families in the community; whether in one of our Family Hubs orDelivery Sites, an Early Years Setting or School, or in a familys home. This flexible and innovative new way of working is about providing services without walls and ensuring those families who need support the most are easily reached.Broad areas of support and service delivery are: Health Visiting Parenting Support School Nursing Family Health Resilience and Child Development Support for ages 0-19 (25 SEND)Please see our website for further details www.essexfamilywellbeing.co.ukThe Position: Family Hub PractitionerThe Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Service are seeking a passionate and dedicated professional to join our team as a Family Hub PractitionerThe HFSA will report to an allocated Health Visitor/School Nurse who will in turn report to the Healthy Family Team Leader. The post-holder will be employed by Barnardos; however the post-holder will be managed by a Team Leader employed by Barnardos orHCRG Care Group as part of a matrix management system.Key Responsibilities:Under guidance and instruction:

  • To work with children, young people and their families, within a group setting, using a variety of interventions, to identify needs and to achieve positive outcomes.
  • To work in partnership with parents/carers to empower them and to enable them to achieve better outcomes for their children.
  • To work with families to promote School Readiness and provide interventions that support children to achieve.
  • To plan, deliver and evaluate group based interventions for children and families.
  • To work co-operatively with childrens services, health agencies and other community based services, to provide the most effective service for children young people and families.
  • To contribute to Service development.
  • To apply safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • The HFSA may be responsible for supporting and supervising volunteers within the service.
Essential requirements for the role
  • Qualification S/NVQ2 for staff assisting and working alongside other staff in work with children, young people and vulnerable adults and for staff having sole and direct access to children, young people and vulnerable adults.
  • The requirement will be to work towards S/NVQ 3.
  • Awareness of factors impacting on and issues facing vulnerable children and young people and families (e.g. disadvantage, poverty, disability).
  • Awareness of childrens need to feel safe
A valid driving licence and use of a car is essential for this role.Applications are shortlisted by demonstrated experience aligned to the Person Specification.
