Consilium Recruit are proudly supporting Aqualiner with the recruitment of a Workshop/Laboratory Technician, to be responsible for test/trial support in an extremely wide field of application, ranging from small signal electrical signals, to fundamentalmaterial properties, to power systems, to experiments involving gas laws and properties, etc.You will be working, with the Engineering team, on-site at their Loughborough H.Q. Company Equity + Pension + Annual LeaveThe RoleAqualiner is developing a next generation of fully process controlled equipment capable of producing liners in water companies live infrastructure. They are enjoying an incredibly exciting phase in the development of their products and are now seeking anexperienced Workshop/Laboratory Technician.Aqualiners mission is to create the global solution for renewing aged drinking water pipes, this is patented technology and has unique regulatory approval for drinking water in the UK.The business has been trading for fifteen years with a high-profile presence in the water industry and hugely pertinent offering to the challenges of climate change and provision of safe and clean water supply.Working from the Loughborough H.Q., you will be responsible for test/trial support in all areas of research and investigation, ranging from small signal electrical signals, to exploring fundamental material properties of the materials and technologies inuse, to power systems behaviour, to experiments involving gas laws and properties, etc.Supporting the R&D infrastructure for product development and new product introductions, you will be required to have knowledge of operating workshop machine tools to prepare test samples including but not limited to machining and microscopy polishing ofthermoplastic composite samples. You will be required to support the ongoing engineering review and investigation of materials including testing and analysis for the composite material aspects of the Aqualiner product, electronic control systems, etc.You must ensure that the workshop is operating in a clean and safe manner and the engineering team have the appropriate support to deliver their required tasks.The PersonYou will ideally be a time served diligent technician/engineer and have had significant experience in an R&D Test or Workshop laboratory environment supporting either test or research and development activities within a wide engineering context and havea proven track record of mental agility and adaptability. You will be conversant with working in a new production introduction setting focusing on innovative and practical solutions to the engineering challenges that R&D present. Experience developed withinan engineering laboratory is necessary for the role.You will have testing and test set up experience in a non QA context including instrumentation setup and calibration, sample preparation, result data capture and logging. Experience in high magnification macro photography would be an advantage and the successfulapplicant must have the ability to collect, store and manage a significant volume of test data to allow other team members easy retrieval of the data as required.You will be well versed working on complex systems and possess previous experience of working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment and being able to develop and build solutions in a collaborative and highly hands on manner.
