Job Description

I am pleased to be exclusively partnering with a local agricultural company based in Leicestershire on their search for a Transport Planner to add to their growing transport office.The position will report into and work closely with the Transport Manager and hold responsibility for national planning. The ideal candidate will have a background in Planning and hold experience in Driver management and all administrative and compliance related duties. Key responsibilities will include:* Route planning of around 30+ vehicles across the UK* Acting as the main POC for drivers and resolving issues quickly and efficiently* Updating the transport diary and daily operations* Performing any transport related admin tasks daily* Ensuring vehicle compliance and services* Arranging vehicles servicing and account for vehicles off road when planning* Providing daily reports to senior management* Dealing with any customer queries or complaints* Managing any driver issues and escalating to the Transport Manager when requiredKey skills required for the role:* Previous national transport planning experience* Previous experience in a transport/logistics organisation* Knowledge of driver hours regulations and health & safety requirements* Excellent communications skills, and the ability to work well under pressure* Ability to take a creative approach to problem-solving and react quickly to customer requirements* Previous system experience and can easily pick up an in-house system* High attention to detail* Pro-active and forward thinking approachThis is a permanent role with a working week of Monday to Friday.
