Job Description

Do you have a background in shaping policy responses Do you know how best to influence key decision makers like senior politicianslevel= is delighted to be supporting the national charity and leading voice for disabled people in sport and activity is looking to appoint an exceptional Senior Policy Officer to join their external affairs team. In this new role, you willdevelop policy positions and recommendations that are evidence and insight led. You will work with colleagues to develop and deliver influencing plans to raise their profile and work towards their vision - fairness for disabled people in sport and activity.With excellent relationship skills, you will build and maintain relationships with a wide range of people, including senior politicians. You will act as expertise across the organisation on key policy areas that affect disabled people in sport and activity,and the wider policy environment.They are looking for an experienced and organised individual who can monitor and proactively identify relevant upcoming policy developments and engagement opportunities. Managed by the External Affairs Manager, the postholder will also work closely withtheir Executive team, Communications Manager and new Media and Campaigns Advisor.You will need:

  • A background of working in a third sector policy role or equivalent and influencing government policy development
  • Experience in delivering on policy or advocacy projects for significant change
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Exceptional relationship skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good understanding of the disability and/or sport policy environment

They operate a hybrid working model, with regular team meetings in the Manchester or Loughborough office.
