It is therefore easily commutable from both Nottingham, Leicester and Derby. The client has a reputation for prioritising their people offering development and progression opportunities along with a flexible and supportive working environment. As a result of this their staff turnover is relatively low and many people build build successful careers with them.Due to Covid-19 restrictions the role will initially be home based however the post covid working practice is likely to be a mixture of home and office working. This client was actually ahead of the game in terms of offering their employees flexibility therefore they were easily able to adapt to the pandemic.The RoleDue to an internal promotion the client is looking to bring in a new accountant to lead and develop a small team and oversee both month and year end accounts preparation for around 5 subsidiary businesses within the group. The role will be a mixture of hands on activity along with team managementand as you grow in the role you will have the opportunity to hand over more and more of the operational role elements. As such you will need to be an organised and motivational leader capable of getting the best out of your team.Typical Duties will involve:-- Anticipation and oversight of month end processes ensuring smooth and efficient closing- Preparation of yearly statutory information and supporting documents and liaising with local audit teams- Ensure completion of general ledger activities such as posting and review of accruals, journals, VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales, Tax.- Liaising with external Audit team when visitingCandidate Requirements- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with 2-3 years relevant, practical experience- Competent and experienced in General Ledger activities- Experience of working in a continuous improvement focused environment desirable- Experience of working with multi-site and/or multiple clients desirable- Experience of managing a small team desirableSound interesting Please click apply or get in touch with me for more details.Cherry Professional are recruiting for this opportunity on behalf of our client.
