Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a Quality Controller for our client based in Loughborough. Our Client has been running since 1983 and specialises in the design and manufacture of electronic systems. This is a Quality Controller role which ispaying between £25,000 and £30,000 per annum for the right candidate.Working Hours are:Monday to Thursday - 7.30am to 3.45pmFriday - 7.30am to 12.30pmQuality Controller Job Overview:To ensure the QMS & quality standards in the business are applied, maintained and adhered to in the strictest manner.Working to not only identify defects but also to find the cause of the defect and develop a solution.Maintain quality standards by approving incoming materials, in-process production, and finished products; record quality results.Responsibility for ensuring the business is working to the latest and most up to date quality directives, methods, and processes, in line with the company’s QMS.Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsibility for companywide QMS; adherence, maintenance, update and implementation.
  • Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials through the agreed process with a Zero Defect mentality
  • Approve finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting deviations through agreed scrap process with a Zero Defect mentality
  • Monitor operations to ensure that they adhere to the production quality standards required.
  • Work to and set the highest standards of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People.
  • Creation and maintenance of Production Assembly Instruction (PAI) and shop floor documentation, ensuring correct document controls are adhered to.
  • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing work, rejects and waste; inputting data into a quality database.
  • Keep measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions and maintaining a calibration schedule.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Be a part of new product implementation steer groups, to ensure quality standards and documentation are adhered to.
  • Contribute, collaborate, and review all drawings.
  • Ownership of scrap process and associated root cause and preventative actions
  • Ownership of Warranty process and associated reporting, root cause and preventative actions
  • Identify areas of improvement and establish innovatively or adjust existing work procedures and practices
  • Facilitate site audits from external bodies.
  • Liaising with suppliers to ensure quality standards and documentation are adhered to.
  • Other duties as assigned
About you:
  • Determination to offer excellent Customer Service
  • Tenacious attitude towards Quality and product conformance
  • In Depth of understanding of Quality standards & processes
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems
  • Good, working knowledge of Microsoft Office; particularly Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Great eye for detail
  • Ability to multi-task and work to deadlines
  • Can prioritise own workload
  • Experience working with ISO 9001
  • A good understanding of UK Health and Safety legislation
  • A strong drive for continuous improvement.
  • Can excel when working independently or within a team.
  • Preferably has a mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing background.
