We are looking for a skilled Production Manager with experience of working within a busy heavy gauge steel engineering/manufacturing environment.Managing and motivating a team of 60 workers with various skill levels you will be responsible for the prepping of the working for both the day and night shifts, monitoring jobs through the manufacturing process to ensure the expected production scheduledthroughputs for the shifts are achieved.Liaising with Contract/Project Managers to identify any problems, answer any queries and ensure drawings being used for production are signed off as checked prior to issue.Analyse and review current manufacturing operations/processes, monitor time booked against estimates and look for ways to improve efficiency on production lead times to ensure the manufacture of customers orders are produced to the correct specificationto meet budgetary constraints.Maintaining high standards throughout the workshop, you will liaise with the H&S Manager to monitor all health and safety risks and enforce PPE as required.Skills / Experience Required:Experience of working within in structural steel or heavy gauge fabrication manufacturing environment.The ability to read and understand technical drawings.Excellent understanding of the structural steel fabrication process.At least 1-2 years experience as a production manager, managing a team of at least 40 people or multiple departments/shifts.An understanding of production planning/scheduling processes.Hours of work 39 hours per week, generally worked Monday to Thursday 7.45 - 16.45 and Friday 7.45 - 2.15, however some flexibility will be required to assist with arrangements for the collection of abnormal loads, etc.Competitive salary33 days holiday inclusive of bank holiday.Job Type: Full-timeBenefits:
