Job Description

Michael Page are currently looking to recruit a Procurement Project Category Manager for our NHS client based in Nottingham, however, the role will be based in Loughborough.Client DetailsOne of Englands largest acute teaching trusts. It was established on 1 April 2006 following the merger of 2 hospitals.Description

  • Responsible for collaborative procurement and supply chain projects across different Trusts
  • Extensive category and project management knowledge and skills with the drive and vision to deliver demanding projects and savings targets
  • Tasked with challenging user preferences and maximising adoption to corporate arrangements and frameworks
  • Lead on the delivery of effective working relationships with clinicians and stakeholders, improving customer satisfaction with engagement to ensure the needs of different groups of Trusts and customers are identified and met
  • Effectively manage the internal operations and resources to enable the delivery of the saving targets and work-plans. To build professional relationships, implement change and support. Enable Procurement to continuously improve the service delivered tostakeholders, enhance expertise and build capability and potential
  • The engagement of Clinicians, Managers and Stakeholders in the end to end process for product selection and supply of services, including demand challenge, transition and implementation planning and development of strategy, tender evaluation, award criteria,andongoing contract management
  • Responsible for managing tenders through the online tendering system and contract management
  • Use of benchmarking software to produce and interpret reports to present to CMGs
  • Supporting the development, creation and delivery of the strategy for demand challenge and procurement process by liaising with the necessary clinical leads and medical staff, recommending change where necessary to affect efficiencies and savings
  • Undertaking rigorous and widespread benchmarking activity to support on-going negotiation and market intelligence for designated Categories
Profile
  • Degree or relevant experience
  • Hold a professional procurement qualification or have relevant procurement experience
  • Expert theoretical knowledge of public sector procurement
  • Proven experience of procurement/category management within a large organisation
  • Experience of evaluation, market and economic analysis
