Procurement, Imports & Exports Controller Loughborough £40k-£45kThe companyWith 28 sites worldwide, for 45 years our client, based in Loughborough, has designed, installed and maintained point of sale and a large range of merchandising solutions for major international brands, most of which are exportedThe role Reporting to the Purchasing and Supply Chain Director, the Imports & Exports Controller will liaise with all stakeholders, at all levels, internal and external, to provide import and export administrative support and prepare required legal documentation to comply with customs agencies and HMRC requirements.Key responsibilities- Assign tariff codes to items- Input and maintain tariff codes for components and assemblies on the ERP system- Arrange delivery of goods via land, sea or air carrier for import of goods- Prior to despatch, check accuracy of all supplier shipping, packing specifications and documentation with relevant departments- Prepare shipping and banking documentation, liaising with relevant external bodies.- Track goods and keep relevant parties informed of status- Check freight forwarders / transport company importation paperwork to ensure conformity with company records- Return paperwork for rectification if required and ensure conformity with HMRC- Obtain original documentation from haulier, shipping or airfreight agent (bills of lading etc.) to scan on to ERP system- Create and maintain a documentation system to hold documentation for reference and inspection- liaise with all stakeholders, internal and externalThe candidate- Outgoing, strong communicator- Self-driven with a positive outlook and "can do" personality- Inquisitive & questioning- Pro-active / strong organisational skills- Ability to work with others and be a team player- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise in order to meet deadlines- Able to use own initiative- Good attention to detailIdeally, the successful candidate will have experience of the following - EUR1, Certificate of Origin, Letters of Credit etc. in order to meet the legal requirements of customs agencies- Knowledge of road, ocean and air transport- Institute of Export & International Trade or Institute of Supply Chain Management, or other similar qualification- Understanding of Import / Export documentation for land, sea and air forwarding- Good knowledge of Incoterms- 1 to 3 years appropriate experienceThis is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to make the job their own and develop their career in a company which enjoys a very relaxed, welcoming culture and is experiencing significant growth.********Please note that we endeavour to reply to all applications received but this is not always possible owing to the large number of applications we receive.If you have not heard from us within 14 days of your application, you should assume your application has been unsuccessful
