Job Description

Process Development ScientistSalary circa £40k plus benefitsThe CompanyMy client is a growing global organisation specialising in drug delivery systems. They now have a fantastic position for a process development scientist from a pharmaceutical or medical devices background to join them.The OpportunityMy client is looking for an experienced Process Development Scientist to manage the operation of the R&D, GMP manufacturing pilot plant facility.This is a responsible role for a scientist (or engineer) to join an expanding team of formulation and process development specialists. You’ll have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the development of new drug delivery system products and future technologies, supporting production of clinical trial supplies and manufacturing process development activities.The role is varied and involves a number of manufacturing and pilot plant based activities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Day to day management of the GMP manufacturing facility, equipment and utilities
  • Acting as a primary manufacturing team leader
  • Contribution towards product technical transfer - laboratory to pilot and pilot to full scale manufacture
  • Ensuring facility, equipment and procedures are maintained in a business ready’ state and GMP and H&S compliant
  • Delivering equipment, facility and utility capital projects, maintenance and safety programs with appropriate validation
  • Authoring clear and detailed manufacturing documentation and managing the documentation system.
    • About YouTo apply for this position you must demonstrate the below experience on top of aRelevant BSc or equivalent qualifications in a scientific, engineering or manufacturing related discipline:
  • Pilot plant and scale up experience from a relevant GMP pharmaceutical or medical devices organisation
  • Knowledge of GLP/GMP and related quality documentation processes for pharmaceutical R&D and production.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to constructively interact with colleagues within the company as well as with outside contractors.
  • Solid project management skills. Has flexibility to handle and lead both long and short term projects and re-prioritise tasks and resource as appropriate.
