Job Description

The Recruitment Group are looking for a Painter / Decorator to work for our client in Loughborough. You will need to have experience of painting and decorating within a commercial or domestic environment.   • £11.76 per hour
Working Hours are:
  • 9am to 5pmMonday to Friday
Position Overview:KEY RESPONSIBILITIESTo form an integral part of the city operations team, providing an outstanding student experience through working with colleagues, delivering high quality painting & decorating and customer service provision.
  • Completing planned and reactive painting and decorating works as scheduled with supervision and guidance as required
  • Assisting with planned and reactive maintenance support (including emergency building works and summer turnaround projects) under appropriate supervision, as required
  • Ensuring efficient and cost effective use of materials
  • Undertaking additional duties as required to assist with the running of the property, such as cleaning tasks and other chargeable works as requested by the city management team
  • Forming part of the city Maintenance Team on call rota (if required)
  • Ensuring that the properties are presented to the required standard and undertaking ad-hoc and emergency/incident response cleaning as required
  • Logging maintenance issues to the supervisor or the service and sales team
  • Assisting customers in a professional and courteous manner, communicating effectively on a face to face basis, showing empathy and responding with urgency to customer requests
  • Undertaking all works to the highest safety and quality standards and in line with all current regulations
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety legislation is adhered to at all times
  • Maintaining an awareness of current legislation concerning Health and Safety, Data Protection and compliance
  • Ensuring compliance with UNITE policy and procedure for lone working, ensuring correct uniform and PPE is worn at all times, including identity card and name badge
  • Using a Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) to manage tasks and log work
  • Previous
Skill Requirements:
  • Previous experience of painting and decorating within a commercial or domestic environment
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
  • Previous experience in a similar customer facing role
  • Good communication skills including the proven ability to engage with customers and colleagues alike
  • Ability to work at pace whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage own time effectively, prioritising tasks when required, multitasking and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to offer flexibility in working hours
  • Self-motivated and possessing the ability to work on own initiative, but also as part of a team
Desirable
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Possesses full driving licence
  • Previous experience of working in the accommodation, hospitality or retail sectors
