Job Description

WHO ARE WE This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Mine Electrical Engineer to join our passionate and knowledgeable team at Barrow Mine. This exciting role will see you direct and manage electrical engineering activities at the Mine. You will ensure all equipment is safely installed and commissioned and then systematically inspect, examine, test and maintain equipment. In this role you will be instrumental in supporting and developing the health, safety and environmental culture at the mine, in addition to supporting the mine in meeting stakeholder needs and delivering world class engineering standards.What will you be doing in the roleIn the role you will;

  • Be an active member of the mine management team and get involved in the day to day running of all aspects of the site
  • Support and drive health, safety and environmental excellence in the engineering department
  • Manage the strategic direction and development of the electrical department
  • Identify and eliminate losses through the application of continuous improvement tools
  • Utilize the Mines planned maintenance scheme and control defects raised
  • Take control of spending and departmental budgets
  • Coach, mentor and develop the electrical staff

  • A HND/HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering
  • A NVQ level 3 or equivalent in management and supervision
  • An IOSH or recognised safety management qualification
  • Knowledge and experience of:
  • - HV and LV distribution systems- Electric and diesel mobile plant- Conveying and crushing plant and installations- PLC and SCADA systems
  • Training and experience in the use of continuous improvement tools and processes
