Seven Social Care is working with Leicestershire County Council to recruit a Family Support Worker for their Locality Service in Loughborough.Initial 3 month contract with the possibility of extension.£14.64 per hour umbrella.£11.91 per hour PAYE.Job Purpose:To provide direct high quality integrated family support and childcare services tochildren and young people) as part of a family support/safeguarding plan, including kinship and foster carers, care leavers and Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children where appropriate.Duties:1 To work as part of an integrated team to provide a range of home/centre-basedfamily support interventions that contribute to achieving an improvement inoutcomes for children, young people and families and care leavers.2 To work as part of an integrated team providing support for young peopleregarding issues of housing, benefits, education, employment andindependence.3 In Children in Care Service the support worker will work with care leavers over18 years of age, holding a case load of young people to ensure continuingindividual support with these issues4 To be accountable for identified appropriate casework.5 To advise and guide parents and where relevant young people in managinghousehold affairs, practical child care tasks, and other means of providing for thecare of children. This may involve flexible work patterns including earlymornings, early evenings and occasionally weekends6 To contribute to safeguarding assessments and plans and report observationswith regard to the standards of care provided by parents and report suchobservations to social workers, and Support and Assessment Workers7 To supervise and monitor contact when part of the childs plan.8 To be part of co-ordinating self help activities for parents/carers/young peopleand ensure that children in need benefit from all neighbourhood services in anintegrated way, at the same time working with other professionals to achieve thisgoal.9 To provide necessary transport for children/young people and parents/carerswhen it is part of the childs plan.10 To undertake requested Life Story and direct work to extend their learningopportunities.11 To be prepared for and participate in supervision compliant with CYPSSupervision policy and procedure and with the Manager at annual PDR and midyear review their individual and developmental needs.12 To maintain accurate and up-to-date manual and electronic records as required by the Department.13 To meet Childrens Workforce Development Confederation induction Standards.14 To deliver registered childcare in accordance with relevant national standards.15 To be responsible for carrying out all the duties of the job in accordance with the County Councils Equal Opportunities Policy.16 To undertake such other duties as are within the scope of the job purpose, thetitle of the job and its grading.Applicant Requirements:
