Assistant AccountantLoughboroughTo £32kContract Full Time12 Months Maternity CoverHybrid – 3 days office / 2 days homeThe OpportunityA technical engineering company, renowned globally in their field are seeking to appoint an Assistant Accountant to their team for a 12 month maternity cover. The role is aimed to start in December in order to gain a good handover.The RoleYou’ll be working in a team of 5, reporting to and working closely with the site Financial Controller in assisting her on Management Accounts and Reporting, Balance Sheet Recs, Fixed Assets, Accruals and Prepayments. The reporting element of the role makesup much of your working week. There’ll little or no hands on work with AP and AR as this is all covered aside to absencesThe CandidateWe’re looking to draw interest from applicants who demonstrate a sound accounting knowledge, specifically a broader skillset in supporting both statutory and management accounts. You’ll be adept with a balance sheet and a P&L, know all about journals, accrualsand prepayments whilst you’ll be system savvy. SAP or other ERP system experience is a big plus (but not essential) however key is strong excel capabilities (pivot tables, look up’s etc). Qualifications aren’t massively important, AAT Levels 3 or 4 would bebeneficial. This is a role where there’s not a great deal of progression and so somebody thriving to get qualified may not suit.You’ll also need to be confident, able to challenge the status quo and be clear in your communication.The BenefitsFree Parking onsite, home working 2 days per week, 25 days holiday
